Cats are ready to get pregnant when they go into heat. When they are in heat they will often be very vocal and meow a lot for no apparent reason. I've had 3 cats go through heat, they all got more affectionate, and one of them would go around humping the ground and making odd pidgin-like noises. When they are in heat their vaginas will be swollen.
there are several very noticable signs, almost impossible to miss. She will wander around making the most awful sounding 'meow howls' particularly at night. It sounds nothing like their usual sounds, trust me. When you attempt to pet or touch her she will likely drop her shoulders and raise her rear end up as much as she can. And the tail will be straight up like an arrow. If you have other pets she will likely be very friendly with them, constantly presenting her behind to them and/or rubbing against them. Cats, unlike dogs, will not visably have any bloody discharge nor leave spots on furniture or rugs as a dog often will. Also, unlike a dog, once a cat comes into heat, it does not end and she will effectively stay in heat until she is serviced by a male or surgically fixed. There may be a couple of days when it appears her heat cycle is over, but usually within the week she will be at it again. Oh, and if she is a house cat she will suddenly seem very determined to escape out any open door or window, so be careful of that.
A cat in heat has very different behavior from its normal behavior. It will start meowing loudly, sometimes at all hours of the night, and if kept inside away from other cats it may try to escape. It will roll on the floor a lot and meow pitifully. It may try to rub its bottom on surfaces, and may even spray surfaces.
Cats always want mates but when your cat goes in heat once a month (only in females) that's when they want one the most only get your cat one if you want kittens(unless one of the cats are fixed)
it will NOT STOP meowing and will put its butt in the air, also, it will sort of pick up its back legs one at a time, back and forth with its tail quivering.
Male cats can do it anytime. I would suggest you neuter your cats, there are more then enough already.
Cats don't really need to mate, but if you want them to mate then just take them to a breeder. Or signs that the cat is ready to mate will show in a female cat she will be in heat.
When her vagina starts to bleed

A male cat may try to mate with a female cat who is not in heat, but it is unlikely. Mating behaviors can also be displays of dominance.
The queens. If they're going to have kits, they're going to have to have a mate.
No.
you must smell womenly cat like and it is trying to mate with your arm you might want to get him fixed
when they act different around that cat..like a human they mate and do their thing
I don't know for sure, but I did have a pair of doves as a child. We put them on the porch one day(in their holding cage) to clean their area and the neighbor's cat killed one of them. After that the other one refused food and eventually died. She was a wonderful bird and it broke my heart. I don't know if a dove needs a mate, but I do know he/she needs a friend.
I the previous books you know when Lionblaze was an apprentice that he goes in the underground tunnels with Heatherpaw. No Lionblaze is loyal to his clan and will not mate with a riverclan cat.
Yes of course. There needs to be both so they can mate and make more cats!!
Yes. The shirazi cat is a breed of cat, and therefore can mate with other members of the cat species.
