In the show, The Governor keeps her in a locked room with Milton, who he has nearly stabbed to death. He makes it so that Milton will be forced to kill her after he has turned as punishment for not killing her when he gave him the option to. He leaves the two of them in the room with Milton bleeding out, who left a pair of pliers on the ground behind the chair that she is handcuffed to, and tells her that they are there, so that she can free herself while he slowly dies. She frees one hand as Milton comes back to life and comes for her. She frees the second hand as he almost upon her. It is not shown, but in the struggle Milton bites her on the neck and she then kills him. Rick, Michone, and the others come in time to find her still alive but near death. Andrea asks Rick for his gun, and Michone stays in the room with her. Andrea chooses to take care of herself, being that in the new Zombie Apocalypse ridden world, when and how you die is one of the greatest choices that one can have.
