∙ 12y agoNone. The calendar goes from 1 BC to 1 AD, without any intermediary year. Because of the lack of a year zero, it is difficult to mathematically calculate the exact amount of years between, say, 45 BC and 2011 AD.

BC and AD are supposed to separate time with the birth of Jesus Christ, the central figure of the Christian religion. Jesus was likely born 4 to 7 years earlier than first estimated, so the calendar is inaccurate by a few years in that respect.

∙ 9y agoThere is an immediate transition between the years B. C. and A. D. Although the A. D. or the "Year of Our Lord" was supposed to mark the birth of Jesus Christ, it is believed that He was actually born around A. D. 3 to 6.
