The rights to the movie were purchased by Mark Burnett originally but now Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who produced Harry Potter and the screenplay is being written by Eric Bress (the butterfly effect), and will be done by New Line Cinema. Michael Scott himself will be executive producer along with Barry Krost. The movie due date is uncertain, but will be out in 2010 or 2011 or 2012, as it doesn't have a writer yet so they can't begin filming. That is all the information currently available for the movie, however there is a fan-site for the series, and they do have a movie page with information that I'm sure will be updated as more information is available.
