When hooking up s video on compaq laptop to the tv and when you play movie on your tv screen and there is pictures but no sound how do you get sound to work when using s video to tv?

Ready here you go......You got to pick up a wire with a headphone jack on one end and a dual RCA plugs on the other end. Then if you have a audio input connection on the back of your tv you plug it in or in to a input channel on your receiver and select that channel when you power it on. Afterwards look for the little headphone logo with the jack underneath it and plug in your headphone plug. You may want to lower the volume on the laptop and on the TV or Receiver and adjust the sound output. Follow these same steps with your iPod or MP3 Player, Blackberry Phone to stream your tunes. The wires range from 99 cents, I have gotten lucky at the dollar tree, or up to $20.00 at your local audio spot.

∙ 11y agoS video is an interface for video only and does not carry sound. You will need to connect the sound using a 3.5mm jack connector on the computer to (probably) 2 RCA or phono connectors on the television.

∙ 11y agoS-Video cables are for video only. The four pins carry 2 circuits of video but no sound. You'll have to hook up speakers to the laptop if you want sound.
