When i hooked some aftermarket gauges to the origanal sender in my 89 integra and it made it hard to start and only hits v-tec when you turn it off and start it again?

The sender? are you referring to the oil sending unit?
and you do know that to hit vtec on any GSR(B18c1) B16(b16a,a1,a2) Type R (B18c, B18c5) that it does need to be warmed up to a certain temp for it to actually open up to crack vtec. Try drive around for about 5-10 min then see if it engages. :)))

when i hooked up my pioneer, i only hooked up essentially what i felt i needed instead of everything. i got power but no sound. i had to ensure that everything was hooked up. dimmer, ant power, illum, etc.

It could be anything from a bad alternator, to poor wire gauges to and from the alternator, or if you're running any kind of aftermarket sound system that pulls a heavy load of power (i.e. a subwoofer hooked up to a semipowerful amp). This may happen every time the speaker 'hits' and draws its max or higher rms load.

gauge wiring may not be hooked up if they have never worked or if they have and just stopped working maybe a fuse i would check all your fuses

If the fuse is good there may be a grounding issue. If the radio is an aftermarket one, try removing it and make sure that the antenna is hooked up and the ground wire (black) is correctly hooked up.

Maybe an electrical problem, as far as that. Do you have an after market CD player hooked up.. may be hooked up wrong. Also if there are bare wires, you should cover the tips with black electrical tape.

Check the fuses first. Then check to make sure the wires are hooked up under the dash and also under the hood. You may also have a ground wire unhooked.

I'd check the fuses first and if OK, check under/pull the dash and see if everythings hooked up OK.

You need to have the system hooked up to the gauges to see what the readings are. You MIGHT have a clogged orifice tube, but any good A/c shop will be able to line it out
