The way to change the fluid (at least for a 2000) Daewoo Leganza, you
1. Jack up your car.
2. Locate transmission on drivers side of vehicle.
3. Remove drain plug.
Note: Drain Plug can be difficult to find looking straight up at transmission. Drain plug is located directly across from the drivers side drive axle and faces the passenger side tire.
4. Allow to drain.
5. Clean drain plug.
6. Install drain plug.
My car used 3 quarts of Dexron III Transmission Fluid.
There is some confusion on what fluid to use in the 2003 KIA Spectra. The correct fluid is Special Lubricant Fluid (SLF). Do not use Dexron or any other fluid. Go to your local KIA dealer and purchase the fluid or have them change the transmission fluid. Using any other fluid may harm your transmission.
Yes
Drain out the transmission fluid and replace with the correct fluid. Some types of transmission fluid are incompatible with other types of tranmssion fluid or with the transmission itself, and can destroy your transmission.
I was told by numerous mechanics that the transmission has to taken out to change the fluid. I jacked my car up the other day and noticed a bolt near the driver side tire. I think that's where the fluid comes out if you remove it. The filter is located on the top of the transmission and looks like an oil filter. I haven't tried to change the fluid yet, but I think it's worth a shot being as they tell me it costs around 600 dollars to change the fluid. Yikes!!

The same transmission fluid serves both the transmission and the differential. There is a draining plug at the bottom of the transmission pan, and as well another plug at the rear of the differential aluminum housing. You can locate them easily when you get under the van. You have to drain both one after the other. It does not matter which one first.
You should probably start changing the transmission long before the fluid starts to go dark. Most manufacturers suggest the first fluid change at 60,000 mi, then it's probably a good idea to change every 12,000 mi after that.
If you mean "engine oil" then I would think that a seal has failed between the transmission unit and the "engine" Other than that maybe someone put or topped up the transmission fluid in the wrong location. Change of oil is required any way
Transmission fluid can leak from many places. It could leak from the actual transmission itself, or any of the tubing that goes from the transmission to other parts of the car.
Honda transmission fluid is specifically formulated by Honda for the transmission they designed and built. Using any other fluid will cause rough shifts. That is why you should only use genuine Honda fluid.
Yes,Dexron IIIH
Any SAE certified transmission fluid can be used in your 1999 Ford. Ford automobiles use the same transmission fluid as other makes of cars.
