What is margin of error in political science?

the margin of error is the percentage of error that could be within a political study. For example.....47% would vote for Obama with a margin of error of about plus or minus 3%.

How can statistics be misleading?

If your null hypothesis is not correct. If the results you achieve are not able to be replicated and/or the margin of error is too great. If you do not have all the necessary and sufficient variables, and controlled for them, and/or they are not relevant. Monty Python had on one of there Flying Circus shows an excellent demonstration of the problems of statics. It showed a segment with large Penguins, then small Penguins as subjects and first small fish and then large fish as rewards and finished with the substitution of BBC programmers as subjects. I wish I had saved the copy I used in class or could remember the episode.

How has advanced technology helped the world?

"ltr">Over the past years, technology has been improving rapidly. Cell Phones are more convenient then they have been in the 1900's, because of the advanced and modern technology. Phones are becoming more like computer, enabling us to, surf on the web, take pictures, email, text message, play games, shop, and etc. Technology has improved especially between the previous 5 years. This great difference proves how much technology improved over 1900's to now. "line-height:1.15;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:36pt;" dir "ltr">All types of electrical applications have been improved from the past to now. In the 1800's there were no refrigerators, and they had to cool food with Ice Sheets, and snow. This took a long time to do, but if you think about it now, there are refrigerators! This means we can just wrap the leftovers and put it in the fridge, which is much more simpler. Life is much more easier then it was then. "line-height:1.15;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:36pt;" dir "ltr">Advanced Technology today is improving this world. Scientists are able to study and absorb what the future may be like. For example, they have found out that in about 40 years, Artificial Intelligence may command the world. Doctors have been able to find cures for certain types of illnesses, that nobody was able to dream of in 1900's. People have invented new electrical applications, transportation, and etc, that has changed the world. Advanced Technology is now a fuel that drives our lives, because Technology is leading us to new possibilities and maybe a new life. "line-height:1.15;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:36pt;" dir "ltr">Technology has also helped us with machines. When it comes to machines, technology has helped us with being able to build buildings faster, safer, and cheaper. Technology has lead us to new creations such as Plows. In 1900's people weren't able to farm as quickly as we can today. Every crop then had to be harvested by hand, when now, we have airplanes to spray chemicals, and machines to harvest the crops. "line-height:1.15;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:36pt;" dir "ltr">Advanced Technology has helped us carry on in life but it has also done some damage. For example, it has polluted the world. If there are future transportation that are able to fly in the air, it's probably going to pollute the air. The human population has increased over the time of years, and will probably increase, (358,192 people are born per day.) "line-height:1.15;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:36pt;" dir "ltr">Advanced Technology also means that new inventions will be created, new ideas will be delivered to the world, and there will be cures for illnesses. The world will be extremely polluted then, compared to now. The world now is having trouble with pollution, so the pollution case 40 years from now would probably be worse. "line-height:1.15;margin-top:0pt;margin-bottom:0pt;text-indent:36pt;" dir="ltr">Technology is a fuel in our lives and drive us through things, but it also means pollution and damage to our planet. Technology will be improving rapidly. There will always be things needed then, like us needing some things right now. Advanced Technology has improved our lives, and will continue to.

Why do policies fail?

Perhaps the best quick answer was stated by Albert Einstein:"No problem can be solved by the same consciousness that created it." Answer: The quote attributed to Einstein above is a misquote and what Einstein actually said was: "No problem can be solved by the same level of consciousness that created it." This clarification is important because if we accept the misquote as an answer to this question then one is led to believe that Einstein believed that the same consciousness that erred can not correct that error. This is not what Einstein, who had a fairly firm grasp of truth, believed. The same consciousness that creates a failed policy can correct this failure either by creating a new policy or acting in better ways to implement the failed policy. However, that correction of error will not occur if the level of consciousness that created that error remains. When we err, our level of consciousness is necessarily lower than we are capable of being and when we err we must necessarily raise our level of consciousness in order to correct the error.
