Current estimates are that the sun will run out of fuel in 4.5 to 5 billion years. Plenty of time left to get out there and get that perfect tan. Be careful of overexposure.
"It is said that in millions of years from now the sun will become know as a RED GIANT" and that the sun will grow then it will come close enough to the earth and the other planets and it will eventually burn mercury, Venus, Earth and maybe even mars.

∙ 12y agoThe sun is using up its supply of hydrogen because the hydrogen atoms are being converted into helium atoms. And that atomic conservation is NOT the same as burning gas. 7/10 out of 1% of hydrogen actually converts into heat energy. And the best estimate of when the sun will go out is in about 10 BILLION years.
