When mailing a letter from coast to coast what is the required postage?

The regular rate of forty-nine (49) cents applies to all standard size letters regardless of the continental US destination. Additional postage is needed for correspondence of different size and/or weight. For example: a 10"x13" "forms" envelope would require more postage than a standard 4&1/8" x 9&1/2" business envelope.
