When muriatic acid is added to the swimming pool how long do you have to wait before entering the water?
Water doesn't really neutralize any acid, merely alters its concentration. However if you think about it if you added a massive amount of water you could reduce the solution's ph to 7, which is effectively neutralized. For a gallon of muriatic acid it would require a few dozen olympic sized swimming pools worth of water to effect the dilution. But really until you give us the molarity of the muriatic acid we can't give you…
Why does the PH in a salt water swimming pool keep rising even though muriatic acid is added regularly?
There is no health problem swimming in a pool with salt added right away, or even while your adding it. It may be uncomfortable, you may feel the salt on your skin, and it may sting you eyes, but it's just like swimming in the ocean. There is nothing hazardous about salt in water, you'd feel safe to drink water with salt added to it right?
Muriatic acid added to the pool water will not remove stains from swimming pools. Unless you do an acid wash. Something that should be left to an experienced pool tech. Purchase a good test kit that will measure chlorine, pH, alkalinity and conditioner. This test kit will, after the initial test for pH and with a further test, give you amounts of muriatic acid to add to your particular size, in gallons, pool. K
Can you add muriatic acid to a pebble tec pool to maintain proper pH level or will it harm the pool?
Yes, you can use muriatic acid to control pH in a pebbletec pool. Added correctly (spread around the pool with circulation equipment operating) muriatic acid will not harm the pool. As a matter of fact muriatic or hydrachloric is the best thing to use but I suggest you dilute it 4 parts water 1 part acid for safety to you and your equipment
The pH level of a pool can be lowered by using a specific acid that is sold at pool supply stores. The acid is called muriatic acid, and it should be added to the pool while the water is circulating. About 1/4 gallon of the muriatic should be added per .1 part per million the pH needs to be lowered.
You can swim in it immediately Obviously the above person does not know what they are talking about. Better answer would be to wait 20 minutes for the pump to circulate the water and to keep you from swimming through a cloud of ACID. You would certainly regret swimming thru the acid if it got into a wound even a small cut or in your eyes or mouth or mucous membranes.
Cell references in formulas must be entered in uppercase and spaces cannot be added before or after arithmetic operators?
A fresh water swimming pool is a swimming pool that does not use a saltwater chlorinator. A pool that used a salt water chlorinator has salt added to it to so that a salt water chlorinator can electronically convert part of the salt into chlorine. A fresh water pool has chlorine added to it directly either manually or Automatically.
I'd wait at least 24-48 hrs, depending how much chlorine you added, if you super shocked the pool then wait 24hrs if you just added a small amount, it's now a big deal. Im a homeowner not a pool builder or cleaner. This is what we;ve done in the past.. you'd might want to call a pool supply store and ask this question just to make sure. You should wait 20 to 30 minutes for…
Not necessarily. It is cloudy because you have not cleaned the filter, added the proper amounts of chemicals, filtered long enough, added too much algaecide or other chemicals, over use - too many people in the pool, not rinsing yourself off before entering the pool -- all of the above and more..... k
