When replacing both electic lift motors for the convertible top on a 1997 Toyota Celica GT the motors will rotate but when they are installed do not seem to have enough torque to lift the top.?

try lubricating all moving parts on top,then make sure engine is running, a little higher than idle would be good, to ensure lots of power to battery also make sure you have good ground and good connections to motors

I've got a 1993 celica gt convertible. my guess is probably that the convertible version wasn't made until later so the car in general is a different sie. also, the convertible is already a little different shape so the top will have someplace to go when it's down. that room isn't in a normal celica
