What Is Nail Health?

Nail health is keeping under the nails clean for both men and women and also the nails should be clipped and filed. Most women want longer nails, while men keep theirs short. Often men will go to salons to have their nails manicured as do women. Your doctor can pick up possible diseases you may have by looking at your nails. If your nails are a bluish color by the "moon" part of the nail this can be an indication of a lack of oxygen to your system and your doctor may test you for heart problems or other problems.

What can you give your dog to calm down so you can cut his nails?

Your dog will probably need sedating to have his nails cut, this can be done at the vets. Alternatively you could ask your vet to dispense a tranquilizer (such as Diazepam) for you to use at home, this would calm him down for a short period while you cut his nails (it might make him a little bit sleepy but this is normal). You could also take the dog to the vets to have his nails clipped without any sedatives or tranquilizers, they often have a team of vet nurses who could hold him still while his nails are being clipped. Discuss the options with your vet.
