Nurses, like other professional people, are usually salaried on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and not paid on an hourly rate. an exception might be visiting nurses, more often there are visiting homemakers who are essentially roving domestic workers who perform housework chores such as cleaning furniture, dusting, beds, etc, these are not strictly speaking (health care workers) and they are certainly not nurses, though some might be nursing students. I have used the services of these ladies and they are closet to female janitors than anything health-oriented. On the other hand on what is called Private-duty assignments-Nurses may well be compensated on an hourly pay scale but this is rare. nothing to do with private eyes. it all depends on where you are working. take a hospital, er rn will make anywhere from 30 to 48 an hour. all depends on experiance! yes there are some that work on salary which is where you work for x amount of money but may work 80 hrs a week. no overtime. but a hospital usually at least around here are hourly!! very good field to go into! high demand! hope i have helped?!
