It needs some freon, just like a refrigerator does when it stops getting cold. Take it to a auto garage and they will do it for you.
is it because of a lack of vacuum pressure?
Check your thermostat
If the ac is on and no cool air is coming out you may not want to turn the ac on at all. When you put the ac on, verify that the compresor is actually coming on, if you can see it spiining whne turned on, you may have low refrgernet in the sytem or a blockage. It is best to have it look at. If it is run when it is not working properly, you can severly damage the ac sytem if its being run when somthing is wrong.
Bad fan or something jammed into it?
It is possible for hot air to be coming out of the driver's side and cold on the passenger's side if there is a dual temperature control on the heater/AC unit. Try adjusting the temperature controls to see if that fixes the problem.
The heat and AC system of your car has its outside air intake located in an aerodynamically high pressure area to naturally create air flow. This is intentional to create a natural air change inside the car. If the system is set on heat (or is broken) it will blow warm.
You can, but it will only waste power trying to heat all the hot air that's coming in through the window.
It was just condensation in the air coming out of the ac system and into the car. Nothing more than a bit of misty moisture that you could actually see coming out of the vents. It was not smoke unless you actually smelled something burning. Crank her up to 90 next time while you're at it... It was just condensation in the air coming out of the ac system and into the car. Is the secondary radiator fan coming on when the AC is turned on?
your car ac will only blow hot air when there coolannt in the car is finished or the car is oveerheated.
The duct work probably runs through an area that is hot and humid, i.e. attic space, and it isn't insulated.
No. If you have hot water heat, you also have a separate air handler for the AC to circulate the air.
