wire came off of the sensor (for oil pressure) or the sensor is bad.
Or your oil pump is not working (not likely if you have been driving it at all).
My 99 did not show pressure for a few minutes or would bounce up and down. Repalced and problem went away
Either your oil pressure gauge is reading low , your engine temperature gauge is reading high , or your fuel gauge is reading low so your almost out of gas
Either your ENGINE TEMPERATURE is too high , the Oil Pressure too low , or your gas tank is at or near EMPTY
On a 1998 Ford Explorer ( like my 1995 ) Either your engine coolant temperature is too high , your engine oil pressure is too low , or your fuel gauge is at or near empty ( any of those 3 things will turn on the " check gage " warning light )
Either your engine temperature is too high , your oil pressure is too low , or your gas gauge is at or near empty

On a 2004 Ford Explorer : The ( LOW tire pressure warning light ) is below and to the left of the tachometer
Either your temperature gauge is reading too hot , your oil pressure is too low , or your gas gauge is at or near empty
It means that the oil pressure switch is showing low pressure.
On a 2002 Ford Ranger : The check " gage " light comes on if : The engine coolant temperature is TOO HIGH The engine oil pressure is TOO LOW or The fuel gauge is at or near empty
It means at least one of the gauges is out of its normal range. The "check gauge light" is notifing you to take notice with either the engine temp gauge, the battery gauge or the engine oil pressure gauge.
