Generally no. It depends on how broken the speedo is. A failed instrument will have no feedback to the management system. If however the speed sensor is the cause of failure, this is sometimes required for the management, to also determine speed and apply the correct fuelling and mapping. In this case, it could cause an error message on the EBDO and light a warning light.
