Bigfoot sightings have been told before the first colonies were stablished by the native americans. There are many old recorded reports as the following 1840: Protestant missionary Reverend Elkanah Walker recorded myths of hairy giants that were persistent among Native Americans living in Spokane, Washington. The Indians claimed that these giants steal salmon and had a strong smell.

∙ 14y agoThe first modern era Bigfoot was spotted by Benjamin Abbo Senior in 1932 outside the forests of Paradise California. However there is so much evidence in the writings and poetry of Native Americans in the past 200 years in the United States. Prior to the colonizing of the United States the Bigfoot species lives throughout most of the wooded areas throughout the Continental United States. However they are very skittish creatures and love foliage. They can handle very cold winters and have adapted well to mountains and other areas which do not attract many people. The Bigfoot does not reproduce in numbers and a common Northern California species of Bigfoot may breeze one time within their life.

∙ 14y agoThe first sighting of Bigfoot was in 1884, but was never proven. The captured 'Bigfoot' looked a lot like a chimpanzee, and this capture isn't even a proven reference.

to correct further answer the last answer Bigfoot actually would wear a size 14 shoes in mens. that isn't that large of a foot. i wear a size 12. in 1811 when the first sighting occurred size 14 was relatively large. one of the first sighting of Bigfoot the people took a foot casting and at that time because of the way it was cast the foo appeared larger than it was. about 4 inches larger making it a size 1 shoes. which is big.
