On May 4,1871 in the National Association, the Fort Wayne Kekiongas defeated the Cleveland Forest Citys 2-0. The winning pitcher for Ft. Wayne was Bobby Mathews. The game took 2 hrs. to play and was attended by 500 paying customers. (source: The Baseball Almanac)
