2010 they all auditioned as solo acts but then got put together by Simon. Liam Payne however audition in 2008 when he was 14 and got to the judges houses but then Simon said he wasnt read and to come back in 2 years time. Which he did. Now look at the 5 boys, together they form the beautiful band One Direction :) Hope this helped haha
