Judging by history all wars do come to an end but some take much longer than others. The Afghanistan War has now become the U.S longest war in its history.
Obama says that they will be completely out by 2014 but how many times have we heard that?

The current war in Afghanistan is preceded by the eleven-year Afghan Civil War between the Taliban and the US-backed Northern Alliance (aka the United Front). Before that, the Soviet-Afghan War lasted for ten years. Before that, Great Britain invaded Afghanistan nine times. No one can say when Afghanistan will ever know peace again.
