You have to take it to a dealer. Something about you can fry the computer if you do it wrong.
You take it to a dealer. The computer on the X5 needs to be told a new battery has been installed. Essentially the new battery needs registered to the vehicle.
Take it to the dealer!!!
it ca only be done at a dealer, sorry.
Not true. The computer does not have to be reset. You can change it yourself. You may have to enter the radio code if it is a theft deterrent radio but you have to do nothing to the computer.
The only way to unlock it is to go to the dealer and let them put it on the computer to get the code.
take the van to the dealer and have the body computer up dated the easiest way to see if this will work is to unhook the battery and if the locks go back to working it will fix it
I was informed by a BMW dealer there isn't a battery to replace and you have to order a new remote and then have it programmed by the dealer.
We just had the same problem on a 2005 caravan. Auto parts store tested it and siad the alternator was bad. Took it to main dealer and they said the battery was bad. They changed the battery and all is well. (Main dealer battery $160 so beware!!!!!) Try a new battery from somewhere cheaper. You can also remove the alternator and take it to an auto parts store where they can bench test it and tell you if it is bad. They can do the same with the battery.
dealer has to do this. A good locksmith may be able to also.
Change battery at official dealer.
One can not change the battery on an Sony Xperia Ion Phone. The battery is built into the phone. The best way to fix an issue like this is to take the phone back to the phone dealer from which it came and either replace the phone or have the dealer fix it.
