Beets grow well in most climates. If the weather is too hot in the summer (in Zone 8 climates), the beet roots become rather woody. But if the weather is too cold, young plants will skip developing the root and begin to seed. Their best grown if full sun, but can tolerate partial shade.
Beets are best grown in places where they get enough exposure to sunlight. The plant will best grow if it is exposed to direct sunlight for about 6 hours. Also, it is important the soil has good drainage. It is good to dig about 8 inches deep to be planted.
