No Eggs you buy at the store have not been fertilized. Hens used to produce eggs for mass marketing never see a rooster. If you buy organic eggs there is a chance they are fertilized but most farms are careful not to allow the eggs to begin development. It takes from 36 to 72 hours for changes to take place in a fertile egg. Temperature and humidity must be correct and refrigerated eggs cannot start to become chicks.

Hi Hatchery's local grain stores , you an look on ebay.com under poultry livestock , they always have sellers of good fetal eggs, just Google chickens for sale you will find all you need!

Almost all country grain and feed outlets catering to farmers will have spring hatch chicks available. Shur-gain and co-op stores nationally have catalogs available to order various breeds.

Your best bet would be to find a lock hatchery that sells poultry. Most hatcheries let you buy any number of chickens you want, so getting 42 shouldn't be an issue.
