They are normally found in central and southern parts of Kenya and also Tanzania. * Nubian Giraffe - This species has large four sided spots of a chestnut brown colour, with an off-white background. They have no spots on either the inner legs or below the hocks. It can be found in Sudan and North eastern Congo. * Rothschild Giraffe (also known as the Naringo Giraffe and the Ugandan Giraffe) - These animals have deep brown, blotched or rectangular spots, which are poorly defined with cream lines. The hocks may also be spotted. They are found in Uganda and north central Kenya. * South African Giraffe - These have rounded, blotchy spots with star like extensions on a light tan background. These run down to the hooves. They can be found in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. * Thornicorft Giraffes (also known as the Rhodesian Giraffe) - These have star shaped or leafy spots the extend down the lower leg. They can be found in Zambia. * West African Giraffe (also known as the Nigerian Giraffe) - This Giraffe species have numerous pale, yellowish red spots. They are found in Niger and Cameroon.
