The timing marks on the camshaft sprockets must be directly opposite each other, and aligned with the top edge of the cylinder head. Taken from the Haynes manual Corsa 2000 2003. Hope this helps
tdc 12 degrees
at top dead center, camshaft mark at 12 o'clock and crank at 5 o'clock. belt should also have marks if it a Nissan belt.
Hi the timing marks are 1 on the bottom plastic cover at approx 12 clock the other on cam pulley behind line it up with the tappet cover hope this helps cheers Peter
Here in southwest Florida they are about $25 for the belt, I put it on myself according to timing marks, exhaust 12 o'clock on left side facing motor on cam, intake at 12 o'clock on right side facing moter on cam pulley.
There should be timing marks on the pulley & you simply align them. Crank at 12/cam at 6.
When you say 'Timing Marks', there are several places on this engine that has various marks in regards to the Harmonic Balance, Camshaft sprockets, crankshaft, and timing cover. If you are checking the timing, you will use the marks on the timing cover. If you are setting or replacing the timing belt, you will want to use the camshaft sprockets in relation to the crankshaft/harmonic Balance. On this year, the crankshaft key notch should be 12'oclock and the sprockets should have the timing marks 'E' for exhaust and 'I' for intake aligned facing with the 'E' at 3'oclock and the 'I' at 9'oclock. Hope this helps. AJ
the cam should be at 6:00 and the crank at 12:00
Timing marks for twin cam 1.6L B6 engine. When crank pulley is at TDC on the compression stroke, 'E' & 'I' on the camshaft pulleys should be at 12 o'clock. Too easy.
Read the instructions that come with the new timing chain and gears. Generally, you would install the gears so that when the engine is #1 TDC the timing mark on the big gear is straight down and the timing mark on the smaller gear is straight up. There is an exception in that some model years have both timing marks in the 12 o'clock position.

You're talking about the the marks on the timing gears Right? Because the timing gears have little marks on them. The top gear should have the mark at the 6 o'clock point(down on the bottom), and the smaller lower gear at the 12 o'clock position(up to the top). And these two marks should be lined up with each other.
All 1963-1968 Ford 289 V8 engines had the timing mark located 45° to the left of center, with the engine at TDC. (This is the left side of the engine, not the observer). There was a timing pointer cast or bolted to the timing chain cover, and the TDC and degree marks (typically 0-12°) were stamped on the harmonic damper/balancer.
