COP system Coil on Plug. Coils are located on the top of the spark plugs
f150 ignition coil sequence
i know if you have the 5.4L V8 you will have coil packs. not spark plugs
I don't know if the 2003 have 2 coil packs. But I do know my old 1998 ford expedition XLT (4.6L) Had two coil packs in front on the engine. One on each side of the block.
how do i find the neutral, or clutch switch on a 2003 ford F150?
In a 2000 Ford Taurus , the 3.0 liter " Duratec " DOHC - V6 has the Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system . So there are ( 6 coil packs )
firewall 4 - 8 3 - 7 2 - 6 1 - 5 front
They are on top of the cylinder head below the coil packs. If you are replacing them it will be BEST to use Motorcraft plugs and to put anti-seize on the threads.
The plugs and coil packs are located on top of the engine. If you look at the fuel rails ( they are silver in color ) which will be on both sides of the throttle body the small coil packs are located under them. Use caution when R&R the plugs and packs not to break the clips holding them and damage the fuel rails.

Ford Dealer can help you. And tell you if there is anything wrong with your 2003 F150.
Most Ford V8 engines have an individual coil for each cylinder. So there is no "Coil Pack". Just eght individual coils that are located directly over each spark plug.
