Best Answer

They are bolted to the exhaust manifolds, pretty much hugging the engine on the outside of each head.

Parallel.

How do you remove turbos from a 1990 Nissan 300zx?

It's almost impossible without removing the engine, unfortunately.

What turbo does a 300zx have?

That depends on which model you have, but it either used a Garret T3 ('84-'87) or T25 ('88-'00). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the 1990-1996 Nissan 300ZX (Z32) the stock turbos are two (2) T25 turbos. Note: The automatic transmission models come with a smaller Turbine A/R than the Manual transmission. So, the automatic's turbos might spool a tiny bit faster, but will die off sooner in the higher RPM's I have no knowledge of the previous model 300ZX's turbos, sorry. Is the non turbo block of a 300zx the same as the turbo 300zx?

Yes, it is only the pistons that are different to provide a different compression ratio (higher in the NA). Be careful when bolting turbos to an NA motor.

Can you supercharge your 300zx twin turbo and take the turbos out and put a supercharger in or are they permantely mounted?

The turbos can be removed and replaced with an upgrade. So surely you can remove them out and run the car w/o. The question is, why would you want to?

Will an alternator for a 92 300zxtt fit on a non turbo 92 300zx?

yes they are both vg30s the same block. The difference is the turbos.

Change turbos in a 300zx?

what is the question? If you are asking if you can, the yes, if you are asking if it is difficult, yes again, if you are asking how, you have to disconnect the motor from the transmission and lift the motor so you can get to the turbos(on the bottom of both sides of the motor), and replace them from there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This question is stupid. Anyone who has a 300ZX TT knows the car enough to know the answer to this. I bet some idiot from Wikianswers.com is going around asking stupid questions.

How do you check for bad turbos on 300zx?

If the center housing seals are bad, you will see white smoke coming out the exhaust. Otherwise you'll probably have to get it diagnosed by a mechanic.

What is the psi of Nissan 300zx 1995?

I'm sure its the same as my 93 300zx which is 9.5psi. However the car can handle about 16-17psi before the turbos run out of breath. Also at around that point the stock injectors get maxed out around 450hp. So to get more that 17psi better turbos and bigger injectors would be needed. Also a big frount mount intercooler and bigger radiator. At that point 600rwhp is attainable.

What is the cost to fix the turbo on a 300zx?

The reliable way is to get new turbos, probably around $1200 for upgraded ones. Labor could be a lot, because you have to remove the engine to replace them.
