You can buy a OBD2 compliant scanner online from a company called Innova. These scanners are capable of reading all car codes on every vehicle sold in the US after, I believe, 1998. The model is Equus 3030. It worked fine on my Volvo S80. I was able to read the problem codes and reset the check engine light.
I dont know if this is what you are looking for, but the obd scanner hook up is in between the two front seats. There is a small cover and then just plug it in.
it means you can appear the obd code problem, and the obd2 scanner can help you solve this problem.
It means you need to hook up to a computer with the Volvo software and pull codes.
The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to AutoZone or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area. auto zone does not have the obd2 scanner to check this ar out 1997 850 Volvo
youll need either an obd2 scanner in later cars or obd1 on board on the cars computer. obd stands for on board diagnostics. this runs codes for things that computer senses are bad or going bad. take it to autoparts stores for the obd2. best to buy a manual or chiltons / haynes manual to help with repairs.
YOU WILL NEED AN OBD II SCANNER AND THE LOCATION OF THE PLUG IS IN THE CENTER CONSOLE.(FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF CENTER CONSOLE)
On my scanner it came up with PO740 : Torque convertor clutch circut / open I believe it may be a low pressure problem, but don't quote me.
You will need to go to a dealer or a repair facility that has the Volvo Vida diagnostic computer with the Dice interface. A average diagnostic tool cannot access the SRS codes.
The obd2 connection is located right above the gear shifter. There is a cover that looks like a coin holder that pulls up and the connector is under it.
Volvo Lastvagnar is. Volvo cars is not. Volvo entrepreneur vehicles and Volvo Penta (marine engines) I don't know.
It is located on the firewall in the passenger's footwell. You have to remove the trim panel under the dashboard to see it.
If you have a specific problem, you can search around for it. If you think it may be covered under a recall, check here ( related links ) and verify it with a Volvo dealer with the VIN. If you're thinking about buying a 2004 Volvo S60, don't. But as far as I know, there's not a comprehensive list of all issues since every car will have issues (most of the time improper maintenance or regular wear and tear).
The name of the company the makes Volvo is Volvo.
No. The company that makes Volvo is named Volvo.
Volvo buses will have Volvo Penta engines in them.
The reset knob is located under a rubber grommet near the instrument panel or computer. Simply remove the grommet and use a screwdriver or stick to depress the knob.
The massage center display a warning with the air bag's can I fix it? Thanks!
Do you have your terminology right....The injector relay would be the computer right??? The fuel pump relay could cause that problem!!!! good luck and let me know
Volvo dealership. Have fun with that... if you've never taken off a Volvo starter, you could be in for a lot of excitement.
There are Volvo dealerships located in many cities in Texas. Some of these dealerships include Roger Beasley Volvo in Austin, Momentum Volvo in Houston, and Volvo of Dallas.
SRS (supplimental restraint system) is the air bag system. It can mean that they have been deployed, there is a fault in the computer or one of the air bags have been unplugged. Even if plugged back in it will give thid fault code. The only way to turn this off is taking it to the dealer, even if you have OBD scanner it will not turn off this light.
It's the connector that allows a scanner to read and diagnose faults (referred to as fault codes) in the vehicles electronic or computer systems. Also allows for software updates. On Volvo S70's (circa 98-00) look under the centre console lid (on RHD cars). It is clearly labelled under a tab that flicks up to allow connection of the scanning tool.
Volvo was created in 1927.
Volvo is not liable for your death unless it is due to a deficiency or defect in the vehicle which is due to the fault of Volvo.
