At the associates level, most community colleges have two approaches to a marketing degree. One is an associates of arts degree (AA), designed as a transferable program of study for those who are planning to go on for a bachelors degree in marketing. Second, an associates of applied science degree (AAS) which is a very career oriented program of study for those who have no intention to go on for a bachelors, but who wish to acquire the course work necessary to obtain entry level positions within the marketing field after the two years. In today's competitive workforce, it is strongly advised that you pursue a bachelors degree at the very minimum.
While a specific degree is not always required for marketing jobs, a bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field is often preferred by employers. However, practical experience, skills, and certifications in areas such as digital marketing, social media marketing, or market research can also be valuable in securing marketing roles. I think that shows pride in your achievements, and you deserve to feel proud of getting an associates degree. "Some college" does not mean "associates degree". Someone who took 2 college classes could check "some college", and you took about 20. I agree with the above contributor. Applications should have a designation for the completion of an Associates degree. An Associates degree shows completion.
