Where can I locate the serial and model number on an Iver Johnson hammerless .32 revolver?
On an older revolver, you are not likely to find a model number, since they did not use model numbers. If you remove the grips, you should find the serial number stamped in the frame under the grips.
The hammerless version was made by Iver Johnson from 1910 to 1924, and sold only through the various mail order houses, such as Sears. A total of 107,650 of the .38 Hammerless models were made, and if yours does not have a letter at the start of the serial number, it was made in the first year of production- 1910. You will need to remove the grips to view the serial number on the frame…

These were made by the Iver Johnson company as a second, less expensive line of revolvers from about 1910 to 1935. If the serial number (under the grips) does not have a letter prefix, it is one of the early production guns. Commonly finished in nickel plate, late production guns were sometimes blued. Values about $90-$150, depending on condition. They wer made in a hammered and hammerless version.
