Throttle position sensor is located at the throttle body. There are only two sensors there. The one facing the firewall is what you are looking for.
If you're facing engine in front of car, the throttle position sensor is on the left side of the throttle neck. You will see two sensors there. One up high and one which is lower on the throttle neck. The highest sensor on the throttle neck is the TPS.
The throttle position sensor is mounted on the throttle body. the throttle position sensor on a 2006 chevy impala is an electronic plug mounted to the gas pedal. I just worked on one. If u need a new one u have to buy the whole assembly. gas pedal and all.

Put a used one on from a running one
The throttle position sensor is on the drivers side of the throttle body. It is right in the middle with a connector hooked to it and two torx head screws holding it in.
Disconnect the battery. On the side of the throttle body, disconnect the wiring from the position sensor. Remove the bolts from the sensor, and lift the sensor off, reverse the procedure to install the new one.

If you are looking for the throttle position sensor, it is located at one end of the throttle plate shaft, on the side of the throttle body, opposite side to where the throttle cable is attached.
