Probably Savage/ Stevens/ Springfield
I can't locate this particular model, but Stevens/Savage dropped the Springfield line in 1948.
About $100-$150 depending on the condition!!
In short, no. I have a single shot lever action Ithaca rifle, and a turn action Garcia Bronco .22. There have been auto ejecting single shots, and a LOT of bolt action single shots. The "trapdoor" Springfield rifle was not a break action.
have you checked with MIDWAY.COM
IF you are referring to firing in the single action mode, the phrase "pulling back the hammer" is used.
The shooter must manually cock the hammer back before firing, for every shot.
I have one of these shotguns. I estimate it is 45 years old.
Check with a gunsmith. They may have access to parts for obsolete rifles thru their trade sources (which do not make retail sales).
what is the worth of springfield meteor 22 single shot rifle?it has light ruston the barrel, 50% of bluing, stock has threescuffs, barrel has ware, as well as the muzzel.garyg1946@yahoo.com
A single action pisstol, such as the Colt 1911, requires that the hammer be manually cocked before firing the first shot. Double action pistols, such as the P38, do not- pulling the trigger will cause the hammer to rise and fall, without being manually cocked. This also applies to single action revolvers, such as the Colt Peacemaker, and the double action S&W Model 66 Combat Masterpiece.
