My Jeep has the same problem (1998 xj) and a mechanic told me that you have to remove the tranmission pan to get to it, its up inside the transmission and if your goin to rep[lace it you might as well change your filter while your at it.
The shift solenoid B is located on the engine section on the automatic transmission for the 98 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Sport.
The tcc solenoid for the 31TH transmission in on the top if the valve body inside the transmission pan. The electrical plug in is behind where the dipstick tube goes into the transmission case.
The automatic transmission solenoid s are inside the transmission, on the valve body.
Mounted on the transmission.Remove the transmission pan and filter. You will see the transmission control solenoid and the transmission speed sensor. Replace trans. filter after you replace the solenoid.
Inside, on the valve body.
The shift solenoid is inside the transmission on the valve body.
how do you repair a circuit solenoid lock up on a Renault scenic automatic transmission
Inside the transmission, on the valve body.
There are a few types of solenoids in an automobile. The transmission solenoid is responsible for properly shifting the gears in an automatic transmission. The starter solenoid power the starter.
Inside the transmission.
There can be several transmission control solenoids inside certain automatic transmissions. Each solenoid has a function that controls shifting including overdrive.
The transmission solenoids are inside the transmission on top of the valve body.
You first need to have your electrical system on your transmission solenoid packs checked out to be diagnosed properly. It may be an electrical issue, or a bad solenoid pack on the transmission.

On the valve body inside the transmission.
The shift interlock solenoid is located inside the console close to the shfiter.
This is a bit over simplified and definitely not for the faint of heart. Remove battery and battery well (watch out for battery temp sensor) Remove electrical connection to TCC Solenoid Raise Vehicle Remove transmission pan (catch fluid in a pan) Remove transmission filter Remove valve body Remove TCC Solenoid Reverse steps using new TCC Solenoid Good Luck
Sounds like you have an electrical problem with shift solenoid A, located inside your automatic transmission. You need to replace it or have someone do it for you. Also, drain and replace your transmission fluid about every 30k miles or every 100k if you use Dexron III ATF, as this is the one of the leading causes of solenoid burnout and serious transmission problems.

Lock up torque converter solenoid sticking. It is likely the electrical solenoid. You should replace it.
The automatic has one for the lock up torque converter
automatic transmission solenoid switch latched in low/reverse position
Automatic trans. on Neons used to have problems with the solenoid packs sticking. Check to see if you have a transmission controller code. If it has a code for L/R solenoid stuck in L or R poistion, put a solenoid pack in it. It might just be that the trans needs to be overhauled.
The 2000 Toyota Camry transmission solenoid is located on the back of the transmission. The solenoid will be near the top of the transmission
