Best Answer

Oxygen can be found on most of the earth and is needed by many living beings. Our atmosphere is composed of about 20% oxygen.

The element oxygen (O2) is found in water (H2O), which is made up of 2 parts Hydrogen and 1 part oxygen. It is also found in rust and metal ores, as well as in many different minerals.

Another place is anywhere there are green plants or trees. Plants and trees absorb Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and produce Oxygen as a by-product.

Oxygen is also found in the bloodstreams of all living animals.

There are many non metals that are found in nature. These non metals include all gasses like oxygen and hydrogen.

How does silicon react with oxygen?

Silicon and oxygen combine to produce silicon dioxide, SiO2, which is found in nature as quartz or sand.

What are found uncombined as monatomic species in nature?

Halogens are found in nature as a monatomic species ex. Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Flourine, Chlorine, Bromine, ect.

Why is the element oxygen found in nature as oxygen 2?

Because of its various properties, oxygen must always occur in nature as an ionic bound or O2. This is also true for Hydrogen, Fluorine, Bromine, Iodine, Nitrogen, and Chlorine.

Why Is a pure element oxygen is usually found in nature as o2?

Oxygen is found as O2 because its outer energy level has 6 electrons. By covalent sharing, stability is achieved.

How do nitrogen and oxygen differ from neon?

Neon has a full shell of valence electrons and no charge, therefore it does not react with things. Nitrogen and Oxygen do react with things. Also, nitrogen and oxygen are diatomics. Meaning they're found as O2 or N2 in nature, not O or N alone. Neon is not diatomic. It can be found as Ne alone in nature.

Why phosphorus is not found in nature?

Phosphorus us found in nature, but in the form of phosphate compounds rather than in pure elemental form. This is because phosphorus is highly reactive and will readily react with oxygen in the air.
