I assume your single action is pre-war ? If so, then made about 1907. As to the caliber, check markings on barrel. that should give the caliber.......
The Springfield Model 84 was made by J. Stevens Arms Company, Chicopee, Mass.
I can't locate this particular model, but Stevens/Savage dropped the Springfield line in 1948.

Depending on which version (early flat sided stocks are higher) these run about $100. They seem to have been made from the late20s/ early 30's, up until about 1950. Dates are imprecise due to the tangled history of Savage/ Stevens/ Springfield.
