The fuel pressure regulator is located on the fuel rail for the injectors. It should be right on top of the engine, and it will have a vacuum going to it. It is attached to the rail with two or three screws. Remember to relieve the fuel pressure first if you are planning on changing it.
where is located the fuel injector presssure regulator on a 1999 ford explorer 5.0 liter engine?
If it is a 4.0 the regulator is mounted right front on the engine, obviously on the fuel rail
Looking from the front , I believe the fuel pressure regulator on your 4.0 L OHV engine is about 2 inches to the right of your oil fill cap on top of the engine
The regulator is part of the engine computer. You will have to replace the computer. The regulator is part of the engine computer. You will have to replace the computer.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter OHV , V6 engine : If you look in the engine compartment from the passenger side , on top of the engine , approximately 1 to 1 and 1/2 inches to the left of the engine oil fill tube you will see the fuel pressure regulator ( if my memory is correct )
The engine computer (PCM) is the regulator, so you replace it.The engine computer (PCM) is the regulator, so you replace it.
If you look at it you will see a vacuum line hooked to it, while the engine is running unplug it and the engine sound should change. If it don't then the regulator is bad. You can also hook up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel line and read what the pressure is while engine is idleing and then unplug the regulator and the fuel pressure should go up a few LBS. If not replace regulator.
The fuel pressure regulator maintains a constant predetermined fuel pressure regardless of engine RPMs.
The 2001 Kia fuel pressure regulator can be found on the top of the engine. The fuel pressure regulator will be near the back of the engine.
I don't know if it's the same on your 1997 Ranger , but on my 1995 Explorer 4.0 L OHV engine , the fuel pressure regulator is on top of the engine about 2 inches to the right of the oil fill cap ( when looking from the front )
It controls the fuel pressure supplied to the engine.
