Look at your temperature gage...If that is low, you might have a bad thermostat, which would keep your heater from working...I would check that first. also, check the cab air filter. i had the same problem. temp was fine but the filter was full.

Your most likely issue is a bad hvac control switch. On older cars, this was operated by vacumm pressure, but on a 2002, it is all electrical. It may be that you need to replace the whole control unit.

It's the motor. I had exactly the same problem with my 2000 Avalon XLS. I thought it was the switch so I changed that first. It had no effect. After I changed the motor, everything was fine.
