-Through other friends

-At a convention or festival

-At gatherings or parties

-Public places such as parks or malls

Just talk to people, and try to establish a common ground through a common interest. This can be anything, from a hobby to thoughts on different aspects of life. Eventually you should be able to create a good relationship with the person you are trying to be friends with.

The most important part of establishing a friendship is communication and time spent with each other. Once you become friends with someone it is important to maintain the relationship as you can possibly lose friends through not communicating.
