Filters for a Nissan Maxima need to be changed every 15,000 miles. To change it remove the screws, release the retaining clips, and remove the glove box bulb.
Check for bent brake backing plate or anti-rattle clips, abutment clips, or pad shims that are broken, bent, missing, or slightly out of position.
Slide a putty 2" or so putty knife into the left and right side to release the clips that hold a double DIN radio. You will have to do some prying and coaxing to get it out.

I have found replacement clips for my 2004 at AdvanceAuto. You need diameter and reach. Take an old one along for reference.
To replace the passenger side mirror on the 1998 Nissan Maxima SE, first remove the door panel inside the door by releasing the clips below the panel and by unscrewing the handle screws. Then, remove the trim panel that covers the mirror mount inside the vehicle. There should be at least 4 screws. Release the wires from the old mirror and take the part off of the car. Add the new mirror and connect the wires. Replace the screws and the door panel.
Open trunk, remove the carpeted panel underneath the back window...should be 4 or 5 push in panel clips. This is where you either climb inside the trunk, or turn upside down from the outside of the trunk. This panel will drop down, and voila, there are your speakers.
on a 1996 there is clips just under the back seat
just 2 simple yellow clips under seat pull them and its out
It would be nice to know the year of your Nissan Altima. For Nissan 2000 Altima GXE the air filter is located right next to the battery. Just push off the 4 clips that hold the top of the filter housing and pull the top off just enough to remove/replace the air filter. Close it and and pull the clips back on.
