Where did William Shakespeare and Anne Hathaway live together?

After she married Will some people think the couple stayed at Will's parents' place, but Germaine Greer in her excellent book Shakespeare's Wife argues that as a married couple they would be expected to have their own place, no matter how humble. And it must have been humble until Will was able to support the family. One of the things he did when he started to get rich was to buy a huge new house in Stratford called New Place in 1597 where Anne lived until her death.

The marriage licence indicates that the bride was an Anne Whatley of Temple Grafton whereas Anne Hathaway was from Shottery, so there is something wrong in the documentation.
