Buddhism can be found in every part of the world. There are many online forums and web sites where you can locate people in your area. It originated in India. It later spread to China and other countries. Here is my idea.

So far researcher believe that long ago Buddhism had spread southwards from its place of origin in north India to Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Indo-China, and other South East Asian countries. Buddhism also moved northwards into the Himalayan kingdoms, (Sikkim, Bhutan, and Nepal), Tibet, Mongolia, and other different parts of Central Asia and also into Korea, China, and Japan. The Asian countries which have Buddhism as their main religion are: * Mongolia * Japan * South Korea * Tibet * Bhutan * Sri Lanka * Myanmar * Thailand * Cambodia

Around 563 BC, Prince Siddhartha was born. He had been sheltered and kept away from seeing the sufferings of the world by his father. Soon after he was in his mid teens he ventured outside the palace and himself witness old age. He did not understand why people would grow weak and die. Because of his confusion, Siddhartha left his family after being married to Princess Yasodhara to find the answers and meanings of life. This became known as the Buddha followed. He traveled places to places to many monks but was not satisfied from what he had earned so far. He settled under a Bodhi tree and meditated. He meditated for several weeks, not caring for his health. During that period of time Siddhartha fasted until he was near death.
