If you are talking about a natural habitat: Lions live in prairies, semi-arid plains and Savannah grasslandswithin southern areas of the African continent. Many thousands ofyears ago, lions were plentiful throughout Europe, southern Asia, eastern and central India and the entire African continent.… Today, they have been wiped out from all other continents (apart fromAfrica) except for a small region of India. They have even beenhunted to extinction in the north of Africa, so now they are onlyfound naturally south of the Sahara Desert. Even though lions have the nickname of "King of the Jungle", theydo not live in heavy forests or jungles; nor do they live in desertareas due to a lack of prey. Asiatic lions live in the Gir Forestof India (in the state of Gujarat), although they have reachednear-extinction. The ones that live in the Gir Forest are protectedby the Nawab of Junagadh. These few remaining (approximately 200 in1990) are still at risk as their habitat has shrunk by over halfsince the beginning of the twentieth century. They are also not thetrue Asiatic lion, but a sub-species that survived past the deadlytime of the 20th century. Lions may also live in zoos, conservation parks and preservationsites. Most lions live in Africa, mainly on the savannah, although somelions live in the forests. Most lions live in South Africa, Kenya,Tanzania and Senegal, and they are the largest African lions. Firstly, he was a who not a what.In 1969 to men called John Rendall and Anthony (Ace) Bourke had recently moved to London from Australia and they were Christmas shopping in Harrods, which still exists today. They saw in the Animal Department, 2 lion cub siblings, one male and one female. (Nowadays, …adopting lions from shops isn't allowed, and Harrods wouldn't sell them anyway.)They were born in Ilfracombe zoo, in Devon, which no longer exists, 3 girls and one boy, and the male and one female were taken to be sold in Harrods. John and Ace decided to buy the male and since Harrods was decorated for Christmas, named him Christian. He lived with them in a shop called Sophisticat on The Kings Road, Chelsea, London. One day, Virginia Mckenna and Bill Travers , stars of the film Born Free about a lion, Elsa, (search for her story because it will take forever to write about that), came to buy some furniture, not even knowing a lion lived there! Christian was growing fast, and was becoming far to big to live in the basement of a shop, even if it did have a lot of rooms. John and Ace ended up in a caravan at the back of their garden, and Christian roamed free and celebrated his first Birthday there. Now, Virginia and Bill knew George Adamson, who, with his wife, raised Elsa, the real story of the film that Virginia and Bill starred in.George lived and Kenya, and was planning to make a pride of lions.Christian was released in 1970 in Kenya, and a year later, John and Ace went to visit him. George warned that he might not remember them, but they both stayed positive and went to Kenya anyway. George was wrong!Christian remembered them and ran to them giving lion versions of hugs to them as they embraced him. The reunion is available to see on YouTube and, I must say, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.By 1964, Christian had his own cubs, but something sad had happend. John and Ace had seen him for the last time. Newspaper articles say that the final reunion was 1964, but George Adamson had said it was 1963. Christian was never seen again.Well, never seen by George, Ace or John anyway. There are books about him, Christian the lion, A lion called Christian and Christian the lion: My scrapbook. There are also films and other stuff, films like Christian: the lion at the worlds endand a documentary called The lion cub from Harrods.Phew, that took a long time to write. :) ( Full Answer )
The men were on a recent Today show in the USA and said that a year after the reunion in 1973, they went back to see the lion again. His "pride" had lots of cubs and females. Christian had grown twice the size since the year before in 1972(the first reunion). The next year in 1974, the men went back… again but Christian and his group had moved on and the people running the animal park had stated that they had not seen the group. So Christian the lion went back to the wild for good which is what they had hoped he would be able to do some day. \n. \n. \n. \n. Christian wasn't a cub anymore so the wild had brought out his full natural instincts. He didn't depend on people anymore. He will have gone on to mate and have his own cubs and live a normal lion life. \n. Unfortunately Christian will be dead now but he will have gone on to live for another 10 good years until about 1985. ( Full Answer )
Sadly, he has almost certainly passed away. Lions in the wild only live 15-18 years, and seeing as it has been over 40 years since his birth, he has likely passed on.
The mental image of Christians being killed by lions for the entertainment of ancient Romans is an evocative one, but there is no true connection between lions and Christianity at all. Ancient Romans killed all kinds of people for amusement, and considered it great fun to involve various wild animal…s in this entertainment; lions were just part of the equipment, along with other exotic creatures such as other big cats, bears, crocodiles, and so on.. A couple of tales in the Christian Bible involve lions, including one of Samson (which also involves his girlfriend and, for some reason, bees) and another, better known, of Daniel, miraculously spared death when thrown into a den of lions.. Over the centuries, lions are closely connected with royalty and nobility, and images of them appear in that context in many parts of the world. ( Full Answer )
christians are just normal people. we try to live our lives the was jesus would want, but we are only human. we make stupid mistakes just like everyone else. if we lived in a perfect world with no sin then a christians would live like jesus lived and how he wants us to live our lives.
Most think to follow Jesus as listed in the gospel accounts (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) is how christians are to live today. What these fail to do is to rightly divide the truth of the scriptures from Israel and the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ's instruction (for all today) are written by our …Apostle Paul in the books Romans-Philemon. This is where you will find how true christians (not self-proclaiming christians) are to live. You will find upon reading these scriptures, the life of a believer is much different than what is taught over most pulpits. First and foremost, one needs to know if they are truly a christian. And then to find out who they are and how God sees them once becoming a believer. After this, instructions on how to live the christian life will be learned...and not before. All this information is in Romans thru Philemon. ( Full Answer )
Yes! Ace and John were his owners in London but when he had to go the Kenya because of his size there Gorge Adamson took care of him along with Boy a 7 year old lion.

Answer Christian tradition tells us that Nero was the first emperor to throw Christians to the lions, however this is unlikely to be true. There may well have been instances when Christians were thrown to the lions and, if so, this would more likely have been during the Great Persecution of Emperor… Diocletian, which began in 303 CE and lasted until 305 in the West, but continued until 311 in the East. Edward Gibbon ('The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire'), discussing the problems in sorting fact from legend, says, "The scanty and suspicious materials of ecclesiastical history seldom enable us to dispel the dark cloud that hangs over the first age of the church." It's not that fun when you're out in the country with one around. Bearing in mind that they DO pair up. It can be creepy at night, because you never know if it's around or if it's close by you. Agreed: An automatic rise in personal alert level was caused by the cats calling to each other just aft…er dusk, drawing ever nearer to the very river I was camping next to. Each time one called, the other answered... first, half a mile away; next, a fourth of a mile away; next, about two hundred yards away; then, a mere hundred yards away. I was wide awake for three hours waiting, waiting, waiting... then fell asleep. In the morning, there were tracks ALL THROUGHOUT the campsite! -Their curiosity apparently brought them through "to see what they could see"...I'm glad I wasn't delicious! As an apex predator, the big cats DO pose a threat to livestock when natural prey is lean. They WILL chase you if you run. However, they half-way bury what don't eat from their kill, and scavenger-type critters benefit. ( Full Answer )
