Goliath was from Gath (1 Samuel 17:4), a Philistine city. See also:
Probably A decendent of Anak in Numbers 13:33. When Lucifer was kicked out of heaven with a 3rd of the angels. The enemy knew of the prophecy of the coming Messiah in Gen 3:15 and sought to contaminate the women so they were having producing children with the daughters of men. The offsprings were all giants on the land. Goliath was the last giant slain by David. Goliath came from Gath, then part of the region of the coastal tribe called the Philistines.
Before answering this question, we should establish who Goliath was and whether he was real or simply one of the many mythical giants of ancient times.
Goliath the Gittite was a legendary giant who fought on the side of the Philistines, who occupied the rich coastal plains of Palestine, from Egypt to about a far north as modern Tel Aviv. Christians tend to assume that Goliath must have been about twice the height of a normal human, whereas Jews and Muslims are more likely to imagine him as being far larger.
Two conflicting stories in The Bible are evidence that Goliath was a 'bogy-man' of legend, rather than a real person. 1 Samuel chapter 30 reports that the future king, David, killed Goliath. But 2 Samuel 21:19 says that Elhanan killed the same Goliath.
1 Chronicles, written more than a hundred years after the Deuteronomist history (which includes the Books of Samuel) and apparently dependent on the Deuteronomist history , attempted to resolve this in two ways. First, there is no mention of David killing Goliath, even though the Book of Kings presents this at the most important single feat leading to David being accepted as a potential king. Second, at 20:5, the book says that Lahmi (Elhanan) killed the brother of Goliath.
So, the biblical evidence points to Goliath not really having existed, as does the archaeological evidence. If Goliath was just a myth, it is not really possible to say what his birthplace was.
David was from Bethlehem(1 Samuel 17:12, 20:6)(John 7:42)(Luke 2:4, 11)
I don't have the slightest Idea where it is in modern times, but the bible says the valley of E'lah was between them.
David and Goliath fought each other in the Elah valley, and David came out victorious , mind you he was a small boy then and Goliath was a skilled soldier, as well as a giant.

David's men did. Since they were under his command and David was king, in a manner of speaking he did. Goliath had 4 kinsmen, also giants born of their father, Rapha, of the city of Gath. After King Saul and Prince Jonathan were long dead, their bones were buried in the country of Benjamin in Zela, in Saul's father Kish's, sepulcher. David was a much older man. Rapha's giant sons were killed by David's men as told in 2 Samuel 21:14-22 and 1 Chronicles 20:4-8. 1. Ishbi-Benob - killed by Abishai 2. Saph - killed by Sibbecai the Hushathite 3. Goliath, (also known as Lahmi, 1 Chron 20:5) Goliath's brother - killed by Elhanan 4. the 26 fingered and 26 toed son - killed by David's nephew Jonathan (David's brother Shimea's son)
