It is very likely that the Chimpanzees evolved from fish-like creatures like us Homo Sapians, as chimps/chimp-like creatures are believed to be a lower step in our evolutionary chain. So, in a way, yes, chimps come from their parents, but the first chimp, genetically speaking, as a species, didn't come from entirely chimp-like parents. And like most land animals, probably came from a fish which had longer fins than most that bred with other fish to slowly produce legs.

One opinion:Primates are mammals. The first placental mammals evolved about 100 million years ago. Mammals in general have been successful since then, due to unique adaptations including the ability to regulate body temperature, giving birth to live young, and lactation. The earliest fossils that can truly be considered to be primates date to about 60 million years ago. Since then, primates have diversified, evolving into about 300 living species including the lemurs, monkeys, apes, and humans. Primates are very diverse, but tend to live in forests, have opposable thumbs, and are very social. So, they got here by evolving.

Another opinion:

There is another story behind this. Christians believe that God created the Earth in six days, and on the seventh he rested. (Genesis Chapter 1) On the sixth day, God created all the animals, and man. Then, after the first man Adam, got lonely, God created a partner, Eve.
