Classical Music is said to have originated in 1750 which is known as the Baroque Era. Classical music was introduced as sonatas, and it is still used in that form in pressent day. Sonatas branched out into other forms that include modern concertos and symphonies. There are many composers that are given the title "father of classical music" but the main one is considered to be the German composer Schobert. So classical music originated in Europe.

Classical music first started making a big appearance during the Baroque period (1600s) but has progressed massively with the other periods of music, therefore its hard to say when it truly began, but the best estimate would be the 1600s.

Difficult question. The biggest inspiration for creating western music was religion. It was never birthed at a certain time but it evolved from the music that came before it. In the Vatican, throughout the early middle ages monks would sing in perfect fifths and would learn and sing by ear. It was Pope Gregory who is often credited as the man who first notated and simplified music. It was very raw and simplified but it allowed monks to read the music they were learning.

This evolved, more notes and note lengths were added and eventually evolved upon until the common score was created (with a bass and treble clef.) It was during this evolution that was called the medieval period of music, where most of the music being created was coming out of Italy.

After this came the Renaissance which is generally seen as being from 1400-1600 where music had evolved to be able to be played in small groups and notated easily. This is when countries such as France and Germany had their influence on the standard European music.

It wasn't until the birth of Bach as a composer that the rest of Europe had effect on classical music. He was German. From that point on, Germany, Italy and France were the biggest composers.

The classical era was born out of the Baroque era. It was birthed in primarily Germany and Italy.

The fall of Hitler. Jazz had soon developed into a more smooth type of music, labeled "classic" by the local hustlers in Germany.

What was classical music called when it first started?

In the 19th century, people began to distinguish "classical music" (Bach through say, Schubert) from the "new music", which we now call Romantic. Every period has something called the New Music. Mozart's friends called Bach the Old Music, and Stamitz/Haydn/Mozart were the New Music. Beethoven was a separate creature, considered a wild, uncontrollable element tolerated only because he had an enormous amount of talent. Romantic Music was, to oversimplify, taking up where Beethoven had left out, exploring new levels of harmony and rhythm, especially in the areas of narrative-type music, music which tells stories or evokes pictorial description. Post-Romantic music went through a kind of bubble-and-crash, except around 1908 instead of 2008. Inventiveness itself became a Value. Entire new forms of music were developed (classical music stemmed, ultimately, from traditional dance and vocal forms). These we tend to lump together as "20th-Century music", relegating everything previous to "Classical." Today we continue the lumping process, and label anything by dead composers or musicians that are more interested in making music ultimately musically interesting (as opposed to monetarily lucrative) as "Classical", as opposed to "Pop." However, the Boston Pops perform lots of music that younger folk today would call Classical. Composers such as Gershwin or Duke Ellington, who used folk, ethnic and urban music and rhythms, are increasingly considered classical, as is the entire Jazz movement. Generally - if they teach it in a course in college, it's "Classical." To confound this further, there is a period generally called "The Classic Period", which describes Haydnmozartbeethoven. (My professor, Karl Geiringer, used this as one word, pronouncing Haydn with a powerful "khhhh" at the start).
