In the ending of "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini, Eragon leaves Alagaësia with the dragon Saphira and the elf Arya in search of a new land for the dragons to live freely. Eragon also leaves behind his friends and family, including his cousin Roran, after defeating the evil king Galbatorix.
