Where did most of the fighting take place in the Spanish American war?
The fighting took place 1898 in the Caribbean and in the Pacific Ocean.
The American Civil war was unusual in that the headquarters of the opposing armies were fairly close together and therfore most of the fighting took place in a relatively small theatre around Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina. Later the fighting spread out to the Mississippi and down into Georgia.
During the American Civil War, most of the actual fighting took place in and around the Southern state of Virginia. Given the close proximity of the Union and Confederate capitals of Washington, D.C., and Richmond (Virginia), both the North and the South made a concentrated effort in this region to achieve victories at each other's expense, although important battles occurred in other regions, as well.
