The Kaaba, which simply means "cube," which it nearly is, is a masonry building in Mecca. It's very old, and as to who built it there are three answers:
1. Traditional (Muslim): Abraham
2. Traditional (Hindu): Worshippers of Shiva
3. Archeological: not sure, but the Hindu answer is more likely than the Muslim.
