Scabies is an ancient disease. Dr. Reuben Friedman wrote extensively about its history in a book entitled The Story of Scabies. Scabies was the first disease for which Medicine knew the specific etiology. Giovan Cosimo Bonomowas its discoverer but read its fascinating history in the Story of Scabies.

You catch them first by sleeping in someone's bed who has them, or by someone sleeping in your bed. They burrow under the skin to lay eggs. Three or four days later the eggs hatch into new mites. 3 or 4 days later they are now oldernouth to lay eggs them selves. you also have scabies when you smell bad!

Scabies are tiny bugs that live under skin sometimes. I got them in rural Ecuador this summer and they just looked like red bumps (similar to pimples) that were found in groups of three, about one or two inches away from each other. They start from using a blanket that was infested with scabies, skin contact, etc. They die in 3 days if they do not have a living host. If you think you have them you should go visit your doctor. They will prescribe you a sulfur cream.
